The News Feed in my Twitter list is focused on two major events. The first being the live converge of Kobe Bryant and his daughter’s funeral in LA Staple center. The second one is Harvey Weinstein’s verdict. After those two events, minor pockets or small articles about the democratic nominees and the coronavirus.
The funeral for the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter, the media are using and pulling quotes from the speakers at the event. People like Shaq, Michael Jordan, and Jimmy Kimmely with them in tears with what they say about their late friend. It shows how much it is to lose a friend and try to honor him. It also links to the broadcasting of said event.
The Weinstein’s trail ends with a guilty verdict to the Hollywood producer. The NY Times article I read about the ending is a live-update, so it updates as more information is verified. The article outlines that Weinstein is guilty of two counts of sexual assault and first and three degree rape. The article details how the Jury made that decision and that the Foreman commented that this was long. In addition, it details the women who took the stand and that Weinstein’s lawyer will issue an appeal. The article lays out information about the case, the victims, and the personnel involved in the trial.
The journalists covering the events are doing so quick and thoughtful. With the funeral, they are referencing what is going on right there and pulling quotes from the speakers, making it easy to understand how heartfelt this event was. With the Weinstein trail, they must have researched the cases and trails before reporting on the end of the trail. Overall the presentation of the articles are good.
